Terms of Service
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. About Distinct
Distinct is a skill-based hiring platform that connects developers ("job seekers") with employers through AI-generated assessments and verified skill badges. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Distinct. One person may not maintain multiple job seeker accounts.
3. Assessments and integrity
Assessments must reflect your own work. Attempting to submit plagiarized solutions, use unauthorized assistance, or interfere with proctoring signals may result in invalidated results or account suspension. Where camera proctoring is offered it is optional and clearly disclosed before an assessment begins; declining never blocks you from taking an assessment.
4. Employer use
Employers may use candidate profiles, assessment results, and badges solely for legitimate recruiting purposes. Redistributing candidate data outside your organization or using it for purposes unrelated to hiring is prohibited.
5. Content and ownership
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profiles, resumes, code written in assessments). You grant Distinct a limited license to process and display that content to operate the service — for example, showing your badge and score to an employer who invited you to an assessment.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the platform: no scraping, no attempts to breach security or access other users' data, no discriminatory, unlawful, or fraudulent activity, and no posting of misleading job listings.
7. Service changes and termination
The platform is under active development and features may change. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
8. Disclaimers
Distinct provides assessment signals to inform hiring decisions but does not guarantee employment outcomes for job seekers or hiring outcomes for employers. The service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law.
